Old photographic techniques are currently inspiring artists again while others are experimenting with new techniques: amongst the latter are William Wegman (p. 676), Toto Frima, Bernard Faucon, Gottfried Helnwein (ill. Below), Axel Hütte. Thomas Ruff, Anke Erlhoff (with a smart combination of photography and painting) and Candida Höfer. Whatever the case, photography has in the meantime become a perfectly natural art medium. (Page 673)
